Privacy Statement

We collect the minimum needed to run a chess club: your sign-in email, the profile details you choose, your scores, your friendships and the messages you send. We don't sell data and we don't run advertising. Other players never see your email address — you appear as your username, everywhere.

Vibe Chess 3D uses Google only to authenticate your identity. When you choose Google sign-in, Google supplies basic account information such as your email address, name and profile information where available. We use that information to create or recognize your Vibe Chess account.

We do not request or access your Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, or other Google product content. We do not sell Google user data, and your email address is never shown to other players.

Your email, at sign-up, to recognise your account and to contact you about it.

Profile details you choose — username, display name, country, bio, accent colour and board theme.

Game scores and ratings from rated games and the skill games, stored against your username.

Friend relationships — who you've added, who's pending, who you've blocked.

Messages you send to friends, stored so they can be delivered and re-read.

Reports you file, including the short excerpt of the content reported.

Technical basics — standard server logs kept for security and abuse prevention by our hosting platform.

Public to signed-in players: your username, display name, country, bio, appearance choices, scores and ratings.

Never shown: your email address. It is never displayed to another player on any screen, leaderboard or profile.

Messages: visible only to you and the friend you're writing to. If a message is reported, the reported excerpt becomes visible to a reviewing administrator so the report can be judged.

Reports: visible only to reviewing administrators. We do not tell the reported player who reported them.

We don't sell, rent or share your data with data brokers, including Google user data. We don't use it for advertising, ad targeting or behavioural profiling. We don't proactively read your private messages — only reported content is read, and only by a person reviewing that report.

Your Vibe Chess account data — including gameplay, profile and social data — is stored on Base44, the backend platform that runs this app and processes it on our behalf under its own security terms. Google handles Google sign-in under Google's terms. Puzzle source-game replays fetch public records from lichess.org directly from your browser.

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can ask us to delete it at any time from the Delete my account section of your profile. Verified requests are actioned within 30 days, removing your profile, friendships, messages and the attribution of your scores.

Some records may be kept longer where we are legally required to, or where they are needed to enforce a suspension or resolve an open report.

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the data we hold about you, to have inaccurate data corrected, and to have your data erased. To exercise any of these, use the deletion path on your profile or contact vibe2dayvibe2morrow@gmail.com.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

We use cookies and browser local storage only to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences — board style, arena choice, puzzle progress and similar. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies. You can clear local storage from your own browser settings at any time.

The Service is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. Players under 16 should only use the messaging features with a parent or guardian's agreement. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, contact us and we will remove it.

If this statement changes materially we will note it here with a new effective date. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
