Terms of Service

Effective 31 July 2026 · Vibe Chess 3D is operated under the trading name Vibe Gaming Studios ("we", "us").

1. The service

Vibe Chess 3D is an online chess platform: a 3D playing arena, live multiplayer games, a rated ladder, tactics and endgame trainers, learning content, player profiles, friends and private messaging (together, the "Service"). The Service is provided as-is and evolves continuously — features may be added, changed or withdrawn at any time.

2. Your account and username

Some features require signing in. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure. One account per person: extra accounts used to inflate ratings, evade a suspension or harass another player will be removed.

Your username is public. Usernames that impersonate another person, a title-holder or a member of our team, or that are offensive, hateful or deliberately misleading, are not permitted. We may reclaim or rename a username where it breaks this rule or where it is needed for the running of the Service.

3. Age

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 16, you may only use the messaging features with the agreement of a parent or guardian — by using them you confirm you have it. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 13, we will close it.

4. Your content

Scores, profile details, bios, custom themes and messages you write remain yours. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, reproduce and display that content strictly as needed to operate the Service — showing your profile to other players, listing your scores on the leaderboards, and delivering your messages to the friend you sent them to.

The Service itself — its 3D arenas, visual design, training systems and original lesson content — is our intellectual property or used under licence, and may not be scraped, resold or redistributed. Chess games themselves are facts and belong to no one; puzzle positions come from the Lichess puzzle database under CC0, and historic games are public domain.

5. Private messaging

Messages between friends are private between the two participants. We do not proactively read or monitor them, and we do not use them for advertising or profiling.

When a message is reported, a short excerpt is sent to us and a person on our team reads it and decides what happens next. Reports are reviewed by humans, not by automated judgement, and the reported player is not told who reported them. You can block any player at any time — blocking is immediate, works both ways, and does not wait on us.

6. Conduct

Our Community Guidelines are the canonical list of what is and isn't acceptable here, and form part of these terms. In short: no harassment, hate, threats, spam, sexual content involving minors, or sharing of anyone's personal information.

Fair play applies to rated games: no engines, no outside assistance, no rating manipulation. We may adjust or reset ratings, void games, or restrict accounts where we reasonably believe fair play has been breached. Casual play is unaffected.

Do not attack the Service's infrastructure, attempt to access other players' data, or automate access outside documented features.

7. Enforcement

Where these terms or the Guidelines are broken, we act proportionately: first a warning, then suspension of an account or of specific features for a period, then termination of the account.

Serious cases — credible threats, sexual content involving minors, doxxing, or anything unlawful — skip the ladder and result in immediate termination, and may be reported to the appropriate authorities.

8. Multiplayer connections

Live games connect players directly (peer-to-peer) where possible, falling back to relayed messaging when needed. By starting or joining an online room you consent to this connection being established for the duration of the game.

9. Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost ratings or lost streaks. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

10. Ending your account

You may stop using the Service at any time. To have your account and its data removed, use the Delete my account section of your profile — requests are actioned within 30 days, as set out in the Privacy Statement. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms.

11. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms as the Service evolves. Where a change materially affects your rights we will give notice on this page and update the effective date above before it takes effect; continued use afterwards constitutes acceptance.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not remove any protection you have under the mandatory law of your home country.
