Your rating, your account
Your Elo is stored on your Vibe Chess account — not in your Google login. Signing in only proves who you are; the number lives here and moves only when you finish rated games in the Arena. On the ladder you appear as your Arena callsign — emails are never shown or shared.
How the maths works
- · Everyone starts at 1200.
- · Beat a stronger player → big gain. Beat a weaker one → small gain.
- · New accounts move fast (K=64) and settle down after ~30 games (K=24).
- · Both players are rated the moment the game ends — checkmate, flag, resignation or disconnect.
Online Arena games only — bot and local games stay casual.
